Are you homeless?  Family Promise serves families with children who are experiencing homelessness and have a desire to change their lives. We provide a safe place to live and an encouraging and supportive environment.  Families have the opportunity to access resources and develop new skills.  Together with your case manager, you will create a plan that empowers you to move toward self-sufficiency.

​​How to qualify?
  1. Please call 724-464-5220 during normal business hours for a screening. No walk-in screenings are available.
  2. An eligible family is defined as an adult with custody of a at least one child under age 18 living with them full-time.
  3. Adults are drug tested. Anyone actively using drugs or alcohol is not appropriate for placement.
  4. Adults are screened via a background check. A criminal conviction which could be a danger to the safety of other families disqualifies a family from the program.
  5. After a phone screening, eligible families have a face to face interview prior to acceptance into the program.
Program services include...
  • Temporary and transitional lodging
  • Home cooked dinner, lunch and breakfast every day
  • Phone/Internet and laundry access
  • Case/budget management services and financial education
  • Phone and Internet access.
  • Housing and employment search assistance
  • Resume review and editing
  • Furniture, household items, toiletries
Family Promise guests must follow these guidelines to remain in the program. 
  1. Unemployed adults are expected to obtain a job within 30 days of placement into the program. Unemployment after 30 days is grounds for program dismissal.
  2. Guests must make 7-10 job contacts and 3-5 housing contacts weekly.
  3. Guests must work on achieving other goals on their individual Life Skills Self Sufficiency plan.
  4. Guests must not use drugs or alcohol in the program. 
  5. Guests must stay in contact with their assigned Case Manager daily.
Post Program Support to families who receive extended support may include:
  • Continued budget development.
  • Referrals to social service agencies.
  • Mediation of landlord tenant disputes.
  • Aid for other specific needs.
